The Canadian Power Squadron's Boating Course is a nationally recognized course that will help you become a safe and confident boater. The course is of interest to power boaters, sailors, kayakers and canoeists. All course instructors are volunteers from the Nanaimo Power Squadron. While there is homework, the concepts are not difficult. Graduates become members of the Power Squadron and earn their Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate (PCOC). All pleasure boat operators are required by law to have their PCOC. If you have already taken the exam and have your PCOC, you are ready to go out on the water. If you take the Boating Course, you will be ready to get back home safely. Take the first step toward enjoying the beautiful waters around Nanaimo - come out on the first night and take the Boating Course.
