NEW YORK (AP) ? Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova advanced to the fourth round at the U.S. Open for the second straight year, beating 11th-seeded Jelena Jankovic in straight sets Saturday.
The 17th-seeded Pavlyuchenkova won 6-4, 6-4. The Russian reached a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time this year at the French Open.
Jankovic was a runner-up at Flushing Meadows in 2008, but the Serb hasn't made it back to the fourth round since.
The 20-year-old Pavlyuchenkova is the youngest player ranked in the top 50. She converted all four of her break points Saturday.
